Cygnus Communications Inc. Announces the Acquisition of SiWorks Inc.
April 4, 2005 -- Cygnus Communications Inc. is pleased to announce the acquisition of SiWorks Inc. SiWorks has been renamed Cygnus Communications Canada Co. and will continue to operate from the existing offices in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
Cygnus Communications is a fabless semiconductor company that develops highly integrated silicon solutions powering next generation networks that provide always-on, always-connected broadband services with cutting edge WiMAX technology.
WiMAX solutions, powered by our System-on-a-Chip (SoC) will enable delivery of rich Internet and media services to ever more demanding users. WiMAX provides high-bandwidth connectivity with true Quality of Service delivered using advanced OFDMA radio technology.
Cygnus is uniquely poised to fulfill this vision. We are founded and staffed by industry experts who have held key positions at several leading WiMAX system manufacturers. Cygnus employees are long-time contributors to the global broadband wireless access standards organizations. They are founders and leaders within IEEE 802.16, ETSI HiperMAN, and the WiMAX Forum.
Cyngus will continue to support IP sales to strategic customers in the 802.16 and UWB markets.
