Faraday Announces Peppercon as its First PC-1 Structured ASIC Mass Production Customer
Peppercon, a Raritan Company, Ships KVM-over-IP Chips in Record Time Using Faraday’s PeripheralComposer Platform
HSINCHU, Taiwan and Zwickau, Germany – September 23, 2005 -- Faraday Technology (TAIEX: 3035), a leading ASIC and IP provider, today announced that Peppercon, a leader in the KVM (Keyboard, Video, Mouse) solution market, has deployed Faraday's PeripheralComposer™ (PC-1) structured ASIC in its KVM controller chip, KIRA™100. By making use of this application specific structured ASIC platform which pre-integrates USB, Ethernet and an ARM-architecture CPU, Peppercon was able to complete a four-million-gate design, get a first-cut working silicon implementation, and ramp up volume production – all in record time. Several tier-one PC OEMs are evaluating Peppercon's KIRA100 for their KVM products.

The KIRA100 is based on a common modular and customizable feature-set, creating a virtual presence anywhere, anytime, over the Internet. IPMI 2.0 support for system health management and mass storage support (virtual floppy/CD and drive redirection) are main features provided for complete platform control to OEM customers.
