Court Affirms Non-Infringement Of ARM Jazelle Products In Nazomi '215 Patent Case
WHAT: ARM today announced that it was successful in the appeal to the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit (CAFC) in the patent infringement litigation brought against ARM by Nazomi Communications, Inc., over the current commercial design of the ARM® Jazelle® Java accelerator technology.
WHEN: February 21, 2008
WHY: The CAFC today ruled that no error could be found in the claim construction of the United States District Court for the Northern District of California and it affirmed the original summary judgment of non-infringement in favor of ARM.
WHO: Nazomi Communications conceded in the original case that, based on the court’s claim construction, ARM’s products do not infringe the ’215 patent. Nazomi Communications appealed the original judgment of non-infringement on the basis that the district court misconstrued the claim construction. The CAFC did not see any errors in the district court’s construction and it thus affirmed the original grant of summary judgment of non-infringement in favor of ARM.
