GCT Semiconductor Leverages MIPS Technologies' Analog IP for Mobile WiMAX(TM)
Data Conversion IP Seamlessly Integrated for Fast Time-to-Market
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. -- March 19, 2009 -- MIPS Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: MIPS), a leading provider of industry-standard architectures, processors and analog IP for digital consumer, home networking, wireless, communications and business applications, today announced that GCT Semiconductor, Inc., a leading supplier of Mobile WiMAX(TM) solutions to the global market, is leveraging a range of its advanced Analog Front Ends (AFEs) to support highly-integrated single-chip and chipset solutions for Mobile WiMAX and WiFi connectivity. Several of the MIPS(R) AFEs for wireless broadband communications are integrated into products that are already shipping. Recently GCT added a new AFE from MIPS Technologies to its portfolio.

GCT integrated MIPS AFEs into highly-integrated WiMAX(TM) and WiFi single chips and chipsets for PCs, PDAs, phones and other devices with wireless broadband communications functionality. The MIPS AFEs are integrated into several GCT products including the GDM7215 single-chip WiMAX plus WiFi integrated circuit; the GDM7205 mobile WiMAX 2.5 GHz Wave 2 single chip; and the GDM7201 WiMAX chipset.
MIPS Technologies offers a complete portfolio of silicon-proven data conversion IP, from single blocks to complete AFE solutions for Mobile WiMax / Wibro (WMAN) and WiFi (WLAN); UWB for wireless USB, WiMedia, other WPAN networks, video or data communications; Blu-ray Disk(TM) storage, touch screen interface, Rx path of digital TV broadcast, Rx path in set-top boxes, analog video interfaces, modems and satellite receivers.
