Samsung using 45-nm process for ARM-11 based processor

LONDON — Samsung Electronics Ltd has started sampling its ARM11-based application processor that will be made on its 45-nm CMOS process technology.
Dubbed the S5P6440 and based on the ARM ARM1176 CPU core which runs at either 533MHz or 667MHz lock speed, the part will be in volume production in the third quarter of the year and is targeted at low-cost and low-power consuming applications such as personal navigation devices.
