HEVC Advance Expands License Agreement
The HEVC Advance licensing program has expanded to include a wide range of commercial products
BOSTON -- April 18, 2016 -- HEVC Advance, an independent licensing administrator, today announced that, in response to market demand, it has expanded its Patent License coverage to include a wide range of commercial products, which will be added to the existing royalty rate structure in the Connected Home and Other Device category.
Examples of the commercial products now covered under the License include commercial surveillance cameras, conferencing products and systems, medical imaging products, and digital signage. With this additional coverage the HEVC Advance Patent License goes beyond consumer products to include all potential HEVC product categories with the exception of commercial devices used to encode and/or decode Commercial HEVC Video, which have been and will continue to be excluded from the License.
"We are pleased to extend license coverage to include these additional commercial products," said HEVC Advance CEO Pete Moller. "By assuring license availability at the very affordable Connected Home and Other Device category royalty rates, we hope and expect to accelerate adoption of HEVC technology into many new and additional commercial product markets."
