Eureka Technology ports IP cores to new Xilinx Spartan-3 platform to meet demand for high volume designs
LOS ALTOS, Calif., April 15, 2003 -- Eureka Technology, a Xilinx AllianceCORE partner and a founding member of the Common License Consortium, today announced it is supporting customers seeking IP cores for use in the new Spartan-3 platform FPGAs from Xilinx, Inc. (NASDAQ: XLNX). Eureka Technology offers CPU interface and peripheral interface IP used in System-on-Chip (SoC) designs for embedded applications. These IP cores reduce time-to-market, eliminate design risks, and reduce development costs.
"Many of our customers have wrestled with the decision between ASIC and FPGA implementations for their designs," said Simon Lau, Eureka Technology president. "The Spartan-3 platform seriously tips the scale towards the FPGA side with the first-ever combination of high-density, low price and programmability, all in one package. The decision just got easier for many of our customers."
"Eureka Technology is a successful partner and strong contributor to our program," said Babak Hedayati, senior director of Product Solutions Marketing at Xilinx. "Their unique portfolio of IP products that support embedded processor design will be in high demand on the new Spartan-3 platform. We are excited that they have chosen to be a significant early adopter of this new family of FPGAs."
Customers can contact Eureka Technology immediately for Spartan-3 based IP. As a member of the Common License Consortium, Eureka supports the SignOnce IP License, the industry's first multi-vendor common license agreement for FPGA-based IP (www.xilinx.com/ipcenter/signonce).
