Silicon IP Quality Needs Assessment, Panel Says

Quality of silicon intellectual property is the most important issue affecting the IP market. That's according to a panel of experts at this year's Design, Automation and Test Europe (DATE) conference in Paris.
"There's a solid need for IP; most system-on-chips are full of the stuff," said Jim Tully, a semiconductor analyst at Dataquest. "However, IP is dogged by poor profitability, because of high cost of sales, declining prices and questionable value."
