MIPS-Based Solutions from ATI Technologies Adopted by World-Leading Digital Consumer Companies
MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., February 23, 2004 - MIPS Technologies, Inc., (Nasdaq: MIPS), announced today that the MIPS-Based™ XILLEON™ 220 and 225 ASIC chips available from ATI Technologies, a global leader for digital media silicon solutions, are being adopted by many of the world's largest OEMs and are shipping to retails stores in a broad range of consumer applications. Since 1999, ATI has been developing innovative solutions based upon the MIPS architecture using various cores from the 4K™ and 4KE™ families.
ATI's list of MIPS-Based™ design wins is impressive and continues to grow. To date, the company can boast its products have been incorporated into Epson's media projectors, Samsung's next-generation digital televisions, Scientific-Atlanta's digital set-top boxes, Sony's digital televisions, as well as in digital media players by Roku. Within China, ATI is fast becoming the standard with customers such as Changhong, Hisense Electric Co. and Xiamen Overseas Chinese Electronic Co., Ltd. (XOCECO).
