EVE Named ARM EDA Partner, RealView Model Library Access Program Member
San Jose, Calif. –– March 24, 2004 –– Emulation and Verification Engineering (EVE) today became an official Electronic Design Automation (EDA) Partner of ARM [(LSE: ARM) ; (Nasdaq: ARMHY)], the industry’s leading provider of 16/32-bit embedded RISC microprocessor solutions. Membership of the Partner Program will enable EVE’s products to support ARM® core-based developers.
Additionally, EVE has also joined the ARM RealView® Model Library (RVML) Access Program, part of the ARM Connected Community. Through the Program, aimed at providing a range of tool options for RealView Model Library users, the Model Library components have been integrated with EVE’s hardware-assisted verification platform.
EVE’s ZeBu –– or Zero Bugs –– is used to accelerate the verification process of ASIC and field programmable gate array (FPGA) designs and the software development cycle for embedded software designs. Installed on a designer’s desktop, ZeBu offers a comprehensive set of operational modes, from co-simulation with various types of test benches (Verilog / VHDL / C / C++ / SystemC / SystemVerilog / Test vectors), at the signal-level and transaction-level, to in-circuit-emulation, and stand-alone emulation. Providing similar hardware debugging capabilities to those found in high-end emulation systems, ZeBu operates at a substantially higher speed and at a fraction of their cost.
The connection of ZeBu to the RealView Multi-ICE® interface unit enables ARM soft cores to be directly emulated on the FPGAs of ZeBu and debugged using the ARM RealView Debugger.
“ Design verification is vitally important to our Partners, ” said Duncan Bryan, EDA Relations manager, ARM. “ The use of EVE’s ZeBu hardware-assisted verification platform with ARM IP strengthens the currently available design verification solutions. ”
“ With embedded software content growing far faster than hardware complexity, hardware-assisted validation becomes a mandatory vehicle to quickly and efficiently verify and debug hardware and embedded software in ARM IP-based designs, ” adds Dr. Luc Burgun, EVE’s chief executive officer (CEO) and president. “ ZeBu achieves the above faster and cheaper than other solutions on the market. ”
