Renesas Electronics Announces "Growth Strategies and Structural Reform Measures" to Construct Business Structure Resistant to Market Changes (Thursday Jul. 29, 2010)
Renesas Electronics today introduced a three-pronged business strategy including (1) formulation of growth strategies by optimizing business portfolios, (2) realization of merger synergies, such as the integration of development environments, technology platforms and various infrastructures, and (3) implementation of structural reforms to create a business structure with stable profitability and resistance to changing market conditions.

Synopsys and Virage Logic Announce Expiration of Hart-Scott-Rodino Waiting Period for Proposed Acquisition (Wednesday Jul. 21, 2010)
Synopsys and Virage Logic announced today that the 30-day waiting period under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Antitrust Improvements Act of 1976, applicable to Synopsys' proposed acquisition of Virage Logic, expired on July 19, 2010. The completion of the transaction is still subject to Virage Logic stockholder approval and other customary closing conditions.

ARM and TSMC today jointly announced a long-term agreement that provides TSMC with access to a broad range of ARM processors and enables the development of ARM physical IP across TSMC technology nodes. Processor IP licensor MIPS Technologies Inc. has announced a restructuring plan that will see it reduce headcount and incur a $1 million restructuring charge. The changes are expected to save company between $2 million and $2.4 million in annual expense, including the current financial year.
