NEC Electronics America Announces Agreement to Distribute VaST Electronics Virtualization Solutions for Advanced NEC Electronics Automotive Microcontroller Products (Thursday Jan. 15, 2009)
The agreement is a quantum leap forward in an effort that VaST undertook almost two years ago to fundamentally change how electronic systems are developed in the automotive industry. Beginning in May 2007, VaST instituted a series of partnerships to deliver system and processor models to several electronics suppliers and original equipment manufacturers. The earlier announced availability of NEC Electronics’ V850™-based MCU models was an important first step.

ARC International plc Trading Update (Thursday Jan. 08, 2009)
The reorganization plan announced on September 22, 2008 was an early recognition of the challenging macro economic environment, and was designed to increase the company’s operational efficiencies and lower costs. In order to address the dramatic decline in the Pound Sterling exchange rate, management is taking actions to further reduce costs. As a result, full-year 2009 savings are expected to be at least £2.5 million, greater than the previously disclosed amount of £2.0 million.
