  Silicon & Software Systems (S3) today announced that Pay-TV operator MultiChoice has licensed S3’s onHandTV Software Development Kit (SDK) for DVB-H to further develop their interactive Mobile Broadcast TV services.
  
  
• Ampex Data Systems Selects DapTechnology's FireLink 1394b IP Core (Wednesday Jan. 09, 2008)
  FireLink, implemented in industry-standard VHDL code, is available for Xilinx and Altera FPGA devices. The product is targeted at applications requiring up to 800 Mbits/Sec of bandwidth and embedded designs requiring a general purpose IEEE 1394b Link Layer Controller.

  On2 Technologies announced today it has signed an agreement with Infomax of Taiwan to integrate Hantro's 6280 encoder and 7190 decoder, RTL (Register Transfer Level) video codec designs in Infomax' next generation baseband processor targeted for mass-market feature phones.

• Licensing Momentum Establishes ARM Mali Graphics Technology In The Mainstream (Monday Jan. 07, 2008)
  ARM today announced that 18 ARM Partners are using products from its Mali™ graphics portfolio. ARM® Mali55™ and Mali200™ graphics processing units (GPUs) have been licensed by nine SoC vendors, including Micronas Inc., and Zoran. In addition, the ARM Mali-JSR184™ 3D graphics engine has been licensed by nine leading OEM licensees including Samsung Electronics.

  Patriot Scientific announced today that Humax Corporation, Ltd. has purchased a Moore Microprocessor Patent(TM) (MMP) Portfolio license. Humax manufactures and distributes a broad range of digital set top box, LCD television and satellite radio products.
  
  
• Fiberhome of China selects Avalon Microelectronics for 40G IP (Thursday Jan. 03, 2008)
  Fiberhome purchased a license to use Avalon’s SFI-5 and 40G SDH/SONET IP cores. Avalon is providing Fiberhome with the complete Field Programmable Standard Product (FPSP) – a flexible, customized, FPGA based solution.
  
  
• AMD Licenses NAND Flash System Solution From Denali for Next-Generation Handset Processor Products (Wednesday Jan. 02, 2008)
  Denali Software today announced it has licensed its NAND Flash solution to AMD. Per this agreement, AMD is licensing Denali Databahn(TM) NAND Flash controller and Spectra(TM) flash file system for inclusion in next-generation processors for handheld devices, providing high performance, simplified system development and low development cost benefits to handheld manufacturers.
  
  
• Wi-LAN Enters License Agreement with Tranzeo (Wednesday Jan. 02, 2008)
  Wi-LAN today announced that it has signed a licensing agreement with Tranzeo relating to Wi-LAN’s Wi-Fi and WiMAX patents. The license provides for the payment of a running royalty for the lives of the patents and includes a payment in respect of past sales.
