Sidense OTP for Low-Power 90nm Implementation Selected by Fujitsu Microelectronics (Wednesday Feb. 25, 2009)

TMC and Dolphin Integration enter in a partnership for microprocessor cores to enable better competitiveness in the highly price-sensitive smart-card market (Monday Feb. 09, 2009)
The mass Smart-Card market is dominated by the 8-bit 8051 architecture. In a market so sensitive to chip price, it has been hard for IC companies to differentiate their ICs beyond mere cost shrinking. The agreement with Dolphin enables TMC to benefit from a MCU core fully code-compatible with the legacy i80C51 while providing much better performances than conventional architectures cloning the 8051.

Nokia Licenses MOSAID Wireless Patents (Monday Feb. 02, 2009)
MOSAID today announced that it has signed a worldwide, non-exclusive wireless patent license agreement with Nokia Corporation of Finland. Under the terms of the patent portfolio license agreement, MOSAID grants Nokia a license under MOSAID's wireless technology patents, as well as certain other patents, covering the company's products sold globally under the Nokia brand name.

Broadcom Licenses Cryptography Research's CryptoFirewall, Boosting Tamper Resistance and Security (Thursday Jan. 29, 2009)
Cryptography Research today announced that Broadcom has signed a license agreement for Cryptography Research’s CryptoFirewall™ security technology for future integration into its multimedia system-on-a-chip (SoC) set-top box chips. Sequans Communications Achieves First-Pass Silicon Success with Synopsys DesignWare USB 2.0 nanoPHY IP (Wednesday Jan. 14, 2009)
Sequans' advanced Mobile WiMAX baseband chip, the SQN1130, implements a unique, low-complexity MIMO algorithm, mimoMAX™, that delivers high data throughput with very low power consumption. Sequans needed a USB 2.0 PHY core that would meet their low power and small area requirements. After evaluating several IP providers, Sequans selected Synopsys DesignWare USB nanoPHY IP because it was 30 percent lower in area and up to 15 percent lower in power compared to other IP offerings.

Rambus DDR3 Interface Solution Selected by Panasonic (Wednesday Jan. 07, 2009)
Rambus today announced that Panasonic has licensed Rambus' DDR3 memory controller interface solution for system LSI implementation in consumer electronics products. This fully-integrated macro cell architecture provides the physical layer (PHY) interface between the controller logic and DDR3 DRAM devices to achieve data rates up to 1.6Gbps.
